This and That

I could also entitle this Busy Monday. I've been home a total of half an hour this morning, until now. Which meant I had places to go and things to do this morning. First up, the pool. I just took something for all my aching muscles. Not being in the pool since Wednesday last week is hard on my body. I feel like a 99-year-old woman on her last pair of legs. So, out came the Triflex, good for arthritis and joints.
So, where was I? After the pool I went to Wal-Mart for the last of my shopping. They say third times a charm. I now have everything I need and came home to one banana left. Oh well. I just won't have bananas for a few days. I have fruit in the freezer. I now have the last ingredient to make my tuna casserole, which I intend to make today. Nobody is taking me to lunch today. When I have it made, I'll take a picture of it and let you know how I made it.
After Wal-Mart, I came home and played a game on the computer for half an hour before I left to turn in my documents to Social Services, head over to the bank to cash my huge $3 royalty check - WOO HOO! Then it was over to ADRC - Aging Disability Resource Center - to discuss Medicare. I really didn't think it was going to take as long as it did, but I have the lowdown now on everything I need to know and what I'm going to do come next month when I can enroll with a specific insurance company for my needs.
Right now I'm on Medicaid. That will end with Medicare enrollment. Which from what the woman told me, I'm already automatically enrolled in because I've been on Social Security for a while now - will be three years in August when it started.
We discussed the various options available to me due to my Social Security income. What I am going to do is stick with regular Medicare. This person is not getting into an advantage plan. No way on God's good earth is that going to happen.
Wisconsin has a state program that pays the Medicare Part B that would normally be taken out of my check. So after finding out about all that, it was determined which insurance would be the best for the Part D drug program. I love knowing what the heck is going on in my life.
I asked about the Silver Sneaker program associated with gym memberships. That is only available with an advantage plan. Okay, so that's out. She said some clubs have scholarships. So, it was back to the Y to find out about that. No scholarships, but what I pay with my senior discount per month is doable.
With all the information in my tiny little head, with the help of the papers for what I need to know, I stopped at the gas station, got gas, and came home. To stay until 6 PM when I will be going to church for the Apologetics class.
So, here I am. My breakfast is almost finished, and I'm going to be working my notifications and hopefully get some writing done today. I didn't do any over the weekend. Too busy to write.
All that and it's only going on 11 AM. It's been a full day for me. What have you been up to? Thanks for reading.

When we became Swiss resident we were both over 60 years, so we were only able to apply for the basic health insurance program. Almost everything is covered except some medications and some specific treatments. The important things, doctors, surgery, all tests and all life saving medications are covered.

You sure were busy so far today. My husband will be 65 in November we need to look into medicare. We only pay $200 for the entire year for each one of us for our health insurance and someone told us medicare was more money. I hope not.

Not a good weekend - no water in our area for two days. However people who live in countries where there is a hurricane threat are always prepared - so we have enough but the inconvenience is annoying. Not what one would expect in the 21st century.
I was actually happy to see my son leave for his home in the city. He visited me on Sunday and left today.
