Domestic help

I know that in some countries, domestic help is very much part of society and of the economy. In fact, in some countries I have visited it is so much so that even the maid has a maid (something I really have trouble getting my head around.) Here in Australia it is not so common. Some people might have a "cleaning lady" come in, but that is normally only once a week or once every couple of weeks. Very few have live-in help. What is it like where you live? Is domestic help a normal part of life? Do you have domestic help?

Yes, many in the U.S. who can afford it have maid services come in and clean their houses. My domestic help is my two arms and legs and a bunch of cleaning supplies, lol. I can't afford it

Your domestic help obviously comes from the same agency as mine.

In my country maids are becoming less frequent except for people who come for days. In my case, I pay a lot to have Leticia 4 days a week. That started when I had my chemotherapy for cancer.

Some people have maids but most people I know do not have them. I have never had one because I always felt like we could not afford one.

Even live-in help is common in most Asian countries. We have one who comes parttime once a week. Live-in help is indeed a luxury and develops dependency syndrome - siva
