I’m going back to work, next week!! Just a little over 10 weeks ago my world changed with having to go into hospital. Over the years I’ve always been fit and well, always been active, I went into hospital I couldn’t pee, no matter how I tried They told me my prostate was enlarged. I needed an indwelling catheter to be put in to drain off urine which lasts in for 33 days! I was grateful at first, however, they are so uncomfortable, So glad on the day it was taken out but that was only the start of my problems. I was thinking once the catheter was out everything would be back to normal. The first day was ok then the problems began. First I had an infection, then I wasn't able to go normally. I had to use a "once use" catheter when I couldn’t go normally, they are 41cm’s long, (one in the photo) they are 4mm in diameter. A week went by, having to use a catheter a time when I could go normally, I was getting used to using a catheter but still didn’t like it and still don't. One evening, I had to use a catheter and blood came out, I panicked, I didn’t know what to do and pulled the catheter out and then phoned my nurse. After that most of the time, I had terrible pain after using a catheter, sometimes would last for 8-10 hours and no painkillers would help. Last week my doctor, she gave me different medication some for pain and some for an infection which hadn't cleared up. Next Tuesday I will be starting back to work, it’s been a long painful 10 weeks. It does make you think, one minute you are feeling fit and healthy then the next you aren’t, you just never know what’s around the corner waiting for you.

That does sound pretty awful. My Mum once said if she'd known what was around the corner she wouldn't have gone there which was pretty funny at the time.

@kevin1877uk kevin, I was thinking about you and hoping that you were ok now. So, are you ok that you went back to work? How was it going back to work? 10 weeks is a long time and then have problems afterwards too. No fun. I just hope you are feeling better.
