FINGERladder

back of my sister finger-climbing the ladder

Good Wednesday high noon to each of us on this side of the world. At long last, my sister was seen by the hospital physiatrist, and Dr. J diagnosed my sister with an inflamed right shoulder tendon inflammation or tendinitis, a diagnosis I thought before, after analyzing her complaints and checking it on the internet medical links. Her rehabilitation treatment started today from 9AM to 10:30AM. There were many stages, and this is the third rehab done- finger ladder. In counts of 10, at frequency of 10, my sister climbed the ladder with her right hand fingers, front and sideways. Her rehab schedule is 3 times a week. She was thinking of the fees, but I told her that her daughters send her money for her medicines anyway so that should not be a problem. I posted her pictures on FB so her daughters will know how their mother is. And I and she will head to the city proper for some errands. I will be back.

I had the same problem and I needed 18 physiotherapy sessions. The costs are covered my our healthcare system.

@ridingbet It's not a discount, it is fully covered by the health insurance we are "obliged" to pay.

@LadyDuck there are some out-patients here who do not pay anything to the government and still they receive benefits like discounts. inpatients as well.

i agree. she shouldn't worry about the fees at all. i would feel bad if a family member i'm helping is not using the money i send for something important like their own medical care. i don't have fb, but i would update her daughters, too, by texting or email.

my sister is secured as far as paying her medicines and treatments are concerned. we never ask money from her anyway because i have a job and my son is paid for his online writing.

@ridingbet she's quite contradictory, isn't she? she doesn't want to enjoy treating herself (when she's at her daughters') but she doesn't want to spend it for her own health, either.

@hereandthere yes that is true and that we always argue about. my sister goes to LBC office to get the money sent by her daughters for her medicines and treatment. but she keeps it in her bank. like today, she is complaining of shoulder pain. i told her to go to rehab and she said,"dagdag bayad na naman" (additional payment again). precisely your kids send you money for your meds, and yet you refuse, is what i respond. "who will inherit the money , if it is for you?"

It can be a relief when one gets a diagnosis and the ailment can be treated non-surgically.

that is true, but provided the patient agree with the procedure and will not refuse anything the doctor suggests to be done.

Fascinating. I have never seen that 'thing' until today. Thanks for this.

we can do that even without the finger ladder. we can imagine running our fingers up until our highest reach, so the ball and socket of our shoulder is functioning well.

yes, but her next rehab will be next week. i sometimes get irked when she says she will delay her rehab again because she feels ached. i tell her, one rehab treatment will not treat her problem; it takes several rehab treatment so her shoulder will be better.

@aureliah but my sister is losing patience because she wanted to be well after the first rehab. she is contradicting herself--- refusing the urgent treatment and wanting to be treated immediately. hahaha

Medical expenses are so high every where. Hope her children will send enough money and make her feel comfortable. Wishing her speedy recovery.

it is good she she is undergoing therapy. It is much better that way than to have pain on that shoulder. How much does it cost to have a therapy nowadays? Is this center inside the hospital?
