busy bees

While moving something next to my orange tree, I heard a lot of buzzing over my head. The honeybees have returned! They were happily humming away, collecting pollen and nectar from the buffet of orange blossoms and paying no attention to me. This, more than things in bloom, is a sure sign of spring for me. It's so nice to see the bees again.

I am hoping to see some similar flowers on my two lemon tress. I practically watch them a few times a day, hoping...

My orange tree blooms before the lemon trees, for some reason.

@spiderdust A family friend is encouraging me to have a mandarin tree. She said hers, the fruits taste wonderful. I am tempted, very tempted. Let see.

@spiderdust such a sharp temperature rise could be bad for many, not just the bees

It really is reassuring. I worry about how they'll do when the temperature rises another 20 degrees, but they're at least thriving right now.

Oh, you wouldn't have liked being as close then! I still give them a lot of space as I don't want stung, but they only had eyes for those blossoms today.

Please bring on some spring. I'm more than tired of winter hanging around.

I don’t like being stung by bees because it hurts.

It's just so wonderful when we are surrounded by the beauty of nature and the perfect weather.

I was pruning our bog rosemary bush last Sunday, it is covered with flowers and there are plenty of busy honeybees sucking the nectar from the flowers. This means that winter is over.

Yey bees! We have already had them buzzing around, have since the beginning of March, always good to see them around.

Yes, especially since there are fewer bees than there used to be. That tree was positively humming with them.
