There really is only one song I like using a girl's name with the letter "I" and I shall use that tune as our featured video today. So, the music trivia quiz will be focusing on my favorite "H-lettered" girl songs. A former Beatle, a British band of bad boys, a writer for the Monkees, and "The King of Rockabilly" form our quartet of musicians writing some fine H-themed female songs for you to solve. Time to name the songs and artists: Do you know the answers to the following clues? Oh yes, and enjoy the Goo Goo Dolls big hit as you ponder those musical puzzle pieces.... 1. This song was the artist's tongue-in-cheek nickname for his Land Rover vehicle. The band went to Africa to record this album but left after 6 weeks to finish recording back in London. Seems the singer was robbed at knifepoint while staying there, and the band was accused of trying to exploit the African sound. I wonder how it "made them feel." So, the band took a "jet," and made a "run" back to England to complete the LP. This track peaked at #10 off this 1973 top of the charts critically acclaimed album. 2. This song is off the Exile On Main Street album. This tune was written and sung by the British band's guitarist and was inspired by his then girlfriend. It was one of the few times the band's lead singer got to rest his voice a bit during a concert. This group had a rebellious, nasty image, in contrast to the Beatles non-threatening persona. The title and sound of this song really puts a smile on your face. You could say the title is another word for being "glad." 3. This Brooklyn born musician has been touring around the world consecutively for 50 years. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1984 and into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011. One of his songs "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" was covered by Barbara Streisand for her album. This artist and Streisand got together and released a duet of this tune which reached #1 on the charts in 1978. Early in his career this artist's songs were recorded successfully by other bands and singers. It wasn't until the tune "Solitary Man" that this singer recorded a song under his own name. In this artist's H-titled track he tried to create a spirtiual focus which was reflected in part by the song's title. Not sure if this final clue is really connected but the girl's name does have an association with a Christmas plant. The plant with its red berries is often used to decorate homes with the Christmas spirit. 4. This "Rockabilly" artist originally released this as the B-side of his hit "Blue Suede Shoes. The Beatles covered this hit in 1964 with Ringo singing lead. This artist was part of the Sun Records stable and he toured with Elvis Presley in the 50's. If you think of terms of endearment married couples use for each other you might just come up with part of the song title. Or put in another clue context, bees produce this sweet delicious nectar in their hives. These tunes were my Honorable Mentions. Do you know the song's artist? A. Hush? B. Horray For Hazel? There is our musical trivia today for H-named women songs. Good luck and use those clues! Enjoy the continuing series, comment, check out the trivia answers and see if their your favorites too. Huh? You don't name a woman "Hush," you tell a woman "Hush." But only once. Joe South wrote that great song, and the interesting thing is that it was a country hit before Deep Purple did it. That band was named after the 30s song (which was later re-recorded, and re-re-re-re-re-recorded, by countless artists). And hooray for "Hooray for Hazel," what a great song! Roe, Roe, Roe your boat while singing that one! As for #1, you'd think the criminals would have been easy to find, someone running around bragging about having robbed a Beatle. If that had happened today you'd find the tapes they copped for sale on eBay, leading to a quick arrest. And Sailor Sam didn't come from Birmingham, he's my brother! Love #3, so sad about him having Parkinson's. Not a big fan of #2, but Some Girls was played so much in 1978 (including at my first two rock concerts) that it became the only album of theirs I ever owned. And why someone hasn't come out with "Keith Richards picked pickles" I'll never know, 'cause that guy is pickled. One more interesting thing about #4: there's a rehab center in Kentucky named after Mr. Blue Suede Shoes (who also wrote "Daddy Sang Bass"). Now, back to the world domination that Lori & I planned at lunch.....

Yes, you do. That song has nothing to do with girl's names. But I really like the song and it does have an H in it. Way to pay attention BTW- you're right they probably will not like it! Tommy Roe had a very successful career. He charted many times with hits like "Sheila" and "Dizzy" (a personal favorite) both #1's on billboard. Roe guest-starred in an episode of the American sitcom, Green Acres too, which I just discovered. Very cool! Had to fit him in on the trivia list. I like the Stones song "Happy" one of those tunes that just gives you an uplifting feeling and kind of grows on you. Very sad about Neil. Such a prolific writer and performer. I thought you might have an interesting comment on Mr. Perkins. What a legend P.S. Great comment as always from the "clueless wonder."
