Calamity Will Occur

Jacques de Molay, grand master of the Order of Knights Templar is thought to be the basis, or at least one of them, for superstition regarding Friday the 13th. They had fought for King Philip IV of France. Instead of paying debts he owed them they were apprehended and said to have engaged in several things, such as homosexual acts and denying Christ, and were condemned to being burned at the stake. This transpired on Friday the 13th in 1307. As he faced the flames de Molay cried out a curse on those that had so wronged them saying: "God knows who is wrong and has sinned. Soon a calamity will occur to those who have condemned us to death."
There will be another Friday the 13th in July this year.
Intellectually I know that Friday the 13th is not something to worry about but, still, on this day, or any other for that matter, I don't like to open an umbrella indoors.

For some reason to which I'm not privy, motorcycle enthusiasts congregate at Port Dover, on the northern shore of Lake Erie, on Fridays the 13th.

I think it's also about Jesus dying on a Friday, they were 13, 12 apostles and the Lord, the 13th man was Judas who later betrayed him for 21 pieces of silver

i seem to be cautious a bit on this day though i don't know why. i have actually had the easiest birth of my kids on friday 13th. lol

How do they feel have their birthday on this day? I am a little on edge if I know it is the 13th. From years of joke players perhaps.

@celticeagle no i meant one kid. out of them all. she thinks it is funny that she was born the 13 th and it was a friday. now every once and again her birthday falls on a friday . she is used to it and thinks it a joke. she don't get concerned over any superstitions.

I know about the umbrella being opened indoors bit and I heard that from my Mom´s Mom lots of times and other people when I was small.
Learned to shake the umbrella outside the door and put it to dry in the outhouse outside.

I had to do just that otherwise the umbrella would not be allowed back by the coats and hats when it was dry.

13 is my lucky number. I used to find money on Friday the 13th all the time. I stayed home today, simply because I have been out and about every day this week. I needed to rest. I got lots of sun today too! My head got sun burnt and there's no pain from it. lol

@celticeagle I took a warm shower and it dissipated the burn, and put some bactine on it, which helps cool burns down. I don't have any Aloe Vera, unfortunately.

Friday the 13th is a day I dread but I am extra careful not to make a good day go bad by not walking in the straight and narrow.
