The greatest gift of life is friendship, and I have received it. -Hubert H.Humprey How long have you been friends with your best friend/s ? I am happy that I have the best people in my life as best friends Abi and Nathaniel. I could not forget the day I met my best friend ,Abi. It was a sunny Saturday afternoon I was running hastily on the way home claspping my barbie doll close my bosom for fear that it might fall from the ground and get dirty when I saw her together with her aunt sitting in our Bermuda grass in front of our house. She was holding a barbie doll, too. I stopped running while catching my breath. Before I could say a word. "she is our new neighbor",my father uttered. I did not notice that my father was behind the coconut tree. He gave them.fresh coconut juice. Abi and I,hit it off right away.I was six years old and she was four. I met Nathaniel at Kindergarten. He was an only child and was always full of energy. Every morning,I would tag along with my mom to bring my older brother to school. At that time I was too young to go to school,so I would only watch kids from the window of their classrooms while waiting for my older brother's class dismissal. One of the teachers asked me to sit-in. I was so happy ,i could not believe it! But there was one boy who was sitting alone far behind the classroom and that boy was Nathaniel.I sat beside him and he was so.kind enough to lend me his crayons and shared his coloring book.He was so noisy. I figured "ah that is why he's here" My mom.enrolled me the next school year and we were seatmates. We were seatmates til' third grade. But,He transferred to an exclusive private Catholic school for boys. Abi,Nathaniel and I live in the same subdivision^^ . Abi and I are neighbors while Nathaniel's house is ten minutes away by foot. We used to hang out a lot.Even though we were studying in different universities. Nathaniel and I were schoolmates during college years.I am so fortunate to have these two in my life for thirty years! We have our own families now but we still catch up on one another. Thanks to the technology. Thanks to thirty years of friendship and counting.

thanks to the technology. i call my childhood friends my "core friends". They are the people I grow up with. When you are young , friendship is pure and not basefd on benefits. You just merely make friends.

That makes me think of my late mother's best friend at one time. She had just moved to a new city, and her mother told her to go outside and play with her brother. She didn't want to, and my grandmother told her she needed to be outside to meet other children. So she went outside, and sat on the curb. A girl walked by her in the street and asked her what she was doing. My mom sullenly replied, "Makin' friends."

My best friend and i have been together for 19 years. She's more than a friend, we treat each other as family now. Both of our families are close and I'm hoping that the friendship we have will never end.

It's great to have good friends from so many years. You are right that with modern technology it's easier to stay in touch.
