Patience And Understanding

Two things we seem not to have around now days. It is such a nice breath of fresh air to go out in the world and come into contact with those who have both of these characteristics. I think of the times I've spent in line to pay a bill or at the check out. Some person nearby makes some comment or I hear raised voices at the head of the line. I try to live by the Golden Rule. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." It seems so easy to read those words and think positively about it. But then we get out in the world, stress and people in a big hurry, and what do with have? Ugliness, bad words, negativity on a large scale. Look at all the ugliness in the world today. It seems to get worse instead of better. I know I am no saint but, I Your thoughts...have been able to improve upon my patience over the last couple of years. I'm proud of this because I used to have very little. So, I know it is not impossible to do. Your thoughts...

Patience and understanding can be done hand in hand. We cannot expect people to do the same even if we treat them nicely. Many are not adept in that.

It seems so basic but for some it seems very complex.

you are so right. i only loose my patience with people behind the counter not doing their job sometimes. like the doctor last time we went. had several down for the same appointment and took several able bodied in ahead of me. i was suffering sitting up in a wheelchair for almost 2 hours. finally we just left before my daughter went ballistic on them.

Definitely agree. Though I know some just have bad days, and aren't actually like that.

Patience takes a while to develope. (That's why it's called patience) I think patience and understanding go hand in hand. You can't have one without the other, but does patience breed understanding or does understanding breed patience? That is the question.

Depends on the situation.

The more we stay patient the better we understand the situation. Both patient and understanding are interconnected. Patience is utmost need in everywhere. I believe a strong meditation can make the person more patient. A better understanding person doesn't have ugliness, bad words because he/she knows what is patience.
