How I killed a bee in my house...

A few days ago I heard what sounded like a fly in the house. It seemed to come from the kitchen area. I never saw it though or heard it again, so thought I was imagining it. Then today, after I did some house cleaning, I noticed something on the floor in the dining area. It wasn't there before, so where it came from I had no idea. I couldn't tell what it was without my glasses on but it didn't look like a fly to me. I came a little closer and noticed it was a bee. I thought it was dead but it seemed to be moving. It freaked me out. I jumped back and had the urge to run out of the house and stay outside till my husband came home so he could murder that sucker. But my husband ends works at 9 pm, so by the time he'd get home it would be after ten. I knew I couldn't stay outside for that long, so I decided to try and kill the bee myself, even though I was terrified to come near it. I took a broom from the kitchen closet and smashed it against the bee many times. It didn't seem to work since I saw the bee flapping its wings. So, I ran to the garage and grabbed my husband's sneaker, put the stick of the broom inside it (so I would be further away from the bee), picked it up, and tried hitting the bee with it. I wasn't successful. The bee was still alive. I took a deep breath and took the broom stick out of the sneaker, put my hand inside the sneaker, so I had a firmer grip, and began smashing the bee with it. I did it many times. That actually worked as the bee didn't seem to be moving anymore. But even though it seemed like the bee was already dead, I kept hitting it with the sneaker just to be safe. Finally, I told myself it was enough. Even though the bee seemed like it had met its fate, it still freaked me out. I had to get rid of it. There was no way I was gonna touch that thing. I thought it was on the floor but it turned out to be stuck to the sole of the sneaker. I quickly opened the balcony door, took the sneaker and hit it against the balcony until the bee fell off. Took a few attempts for it to work but finally it was gone. Have no idea where it landed. Hope it was 100% dead. This whole thing made me exhausted. I am lying on the couch trying to catch my breath and relax...

You need to rest after becoming bee-leaguered.

@lovebuglena I feel for you. Luckily I am not afraid of bugs, but I know a few people who are. My daughter hates spiders. You can guess what I decorate at Halloween with.

It's a bit funny, isn't it? But at the moment I was anything but laughing. And now there is another pest in my house. While doing laundry in the basement I saw something brown with many legs on the wall. I wanted to try to smash it with a sneaker but it is too close to the door, which means the center of the sneaker will not be on top of that thing. So, I am afraid to try... Unless it moves to a new location. Right now it's parked in the same spot. My husband will be home soon, so will probably ask him to kill it for me.

I am terrified of bees, no matter one species they are! It's so painful, getting stung:(

My great grandmother did this, with a rattle snake!:( I had come in the house, by way of the wood pile.

If there was a rattle snake in my house I'd run away screaming.... I wouldn't even attempt at smashing it with anything.

May I know which bee you got rid of after so much of efforts @lovebuglena? I am asking this because I have got a point to mention after getting your reply! Thanks!
