A black out day by females

Today there is a request for women to make their profile picture as black in whatsap. I also received a request by this way, it says, ‘the movement to show what the world might be like without women…, just protest against women abuse…’ I have noticed many women made their dp as black. It is not joke what is going on these days against women and children. Such a shame and shock, where the world is leading? I think women and girls must do something seriously to protect them from the evils. What do you think? Is your country safe for women? [Today my net was down again so absent mostly here]

I don't think any country is safe for women or children or animals or poor or helpless. :) In fact, in the ratio of population we might be scoring better in terms of crime rates, i.e., if we have 10 crimes other countries may be having 12 or 13 crimes per 10000. That said, the kind of crimes we are coming up with is shocking. Secondly our people may not be reporting as well. We do have to do something about it, but nobody really knows what.

I am seriously thinking what is the solution for this. Implementing new Laws or increasing the punishment won't help, it seems. People are fearless on Law and judiciary. What to say on hearing the crimes on even infants, am really shocked....

@vandana7 I have no faith in Law or judiciary at present. After sometime people will forget and the importance faded away. Similar cases will happen again and again. Children need special education from the small class so we can expect next generation will be safe.

My country has laws that protect women and children. There are instances that women here are still being kidnapped and killed but it is not as horrendous as the what with the little girl that happened in your country.

So the cruel incident in our country spread all over the world. What shame for us. It is high time to think every individual how to protect the women population from the wild people.

I think that there´s not a single country completely safe for women. But my country seems a lot safer than yours from what I have heard. I think that it is a very good idea to make the profile picture black. It is a peaceful protest and if is showing that women are much more than a face.

I agree our country is going to a worst situation protecting the women and children. I wish this peaceful protest will lead stronger steps to avoid the crimes and open the eyes of government as well. I mean the women will do much more things in the future for their protection.

@marguicha Must do something to change the situation. I am part of a children's organization where giving special education for children, teaching the values etc different from the academic education. But only small part of children are involving with this at present.
