I had a rude shock today

When my parents called and told me that there are bed bugs infestation in their house.
How could it be for that their house are actually very well kept and that they are doing a great job to ensure that there are no dust around.
So now what they will do is to call people in to spray their house. Hopefully it will be cleared by the third week.

@id_peace And I hate feeling when I feel like there are too many insect infestations of some sort. It gives me goosebumps.

Being a former exterminator and having dealt with these critters, I can tell you that bed bugs have nothing to do with cleanliness or the lack of it. Also, spraying for these pests will not work. You need to call in a team of exterminators who use heat to kill them.

@id_peace They can come from almost anywhere. The laundromat, a hospital, a hotel, a ride on a bus or in a taxi...
If someone has them in their home they can carry them on their clothes or in or on a bag or something, and that's how they get transferred. But again, spraying will not solve the problem. It might kill 60% of them, but guaranteed you will have them back again and again and again unless you use heat. That being said, that does not mean that you couldn't get them back by revisiting the place where they came from in the first place.

bed bugs can ride in on boxes and furniture.
you'd be amazed how easy it is.

They can come from anywhere. People have seen them in theaters, libraries, hotels, hospitals, etc. A friend had them really bad. A person living in the house brought them home from a nursing home where she worked. They are really hard to get rid. My friend could not afford an extermination service.

bed bugs can come with the clothes we were wearing while outside maybe when one is working in the garden or with animals. it can happen that you take off a clothing item and place it on the bed or anywhere else and they look for a comfortable place to hide most likely the bed or the clothes in the cupboards. i hope they clear one thing you can do is take the mattress outside and place it in the sun and take the bedding hang the in the sun the bed bugs will clear.

@id_peace thats a great idea but i would also suggest they check the whole room and mostly the carpets if they have any

The pest busters will be there over the weekends and dealt with them
