A 17 year old Blue Heeler named Max who is partially blind is being credited for locating a missing three year old girl named Aurora who had missing for a period of 15 hours in a mountain area in Queensland Southern Downs.
Aurora had left for a walk outside of her home around 3 o'clock in the afternoon when she suddenly was lost walking in a mountain area outside of her home.
Her grandmother Leisa Bennett was concerned that her granddaughter did not come home.
A party search team went searching for Aurora on Friday afternoon but they were not able to find Aurora.
The next day 100 State Emergency Services (SES) volunteers, the local police and the citizens went to locate Aurora on Saturday morning.
The second party search team found Aurora safe and sound with Max besides her around 8 o'clock in the morning on Saturday.
The police have given Max the honor of being a honorary police dog, Aurora and her grandmother had a tearful reunion after Aurora came home after missing for 15 hours.
Ian Phipps who is the area controller for the SES said that Aurora was seen about two kilometers from her home.

Hats off to the dog who is handicapped for finding a girl and did not live by her side. Such a gentle soul, Max.

Truly they are man's best friend. I hope everyone will be kind to them and give them love and care they deserve.

Despite the dog being a senior citizen, he still has it for saving humans.
