Where is Your Next Summer Camp Site Going to be?

Every year I take the children of our foster care home (mostly teens) to a summer camp towards the end of May. They love places in the hills with forests and rivers. There are many such sites in the northern Bengal. I grew up there and I have many friends and relatives in those districts. They help me to find places to keep the children. Our children have been to those sites quite often. This year I am standing back and allowing my colleague to fix a site for the summer camp, possibly in some other regions. Places in central and south India get warmer and sultrier in May-June. Children love a cool place to spend five days. So, again perhaps a place on the hills would be a better choice. There are some other things to be thought about as well. The group will be a large one, about 40 odd with foster parents. Food and Lodge expenses for so many people will be high, so we try to cut down on expenses by taking the help of some mission schools or churches. Hope, everything comes out well. But so far, nothing seems to be emerging. Something inside me is telling me to be ready with a back-up plan.

That is indeed a large group. It's always good to have a back-up plan.

We don’t have summer or camping site. We have all years summer with red ants on the field so no camping

I want it to be on an island and we already plan to do that. Hopefully very soon.

I recall the few excursions, picnics, I had in my high school days. Good that you take the initiative to arrange such - siva
