DEBATE - Party Politics

Political debates are good for starting with a view that is taken by the person who starts the discussion or rather, the DEBATE, then in the comments, there could potentially be a long bit of commentary between those of similar but moreover, those with different or opposing points of view.
I think I will start this one with a question and see how far this goes.
Do you wish there was a third party? If so why do you think the 2 main parties are just not good enough?
What do you like or hate about the GOP?
I have been told by a good source, that Republicans seem to be all about the rich getting richer. and to heck with the average Joe, middle class worker especially the poor.
I have been told that the Democratic party is for the working class, the average person, but the Republican party is only interested in making rich people richer.
So, is this a narrow minded view or do you think that it is a good reflection on the basic differences that define these two parties and if there were to be a third party what would it be like? What would you call that party?

There is a third party, independents, but if you go that route you will never win. Why Bernie Sanders switched to Democrat. I would say the GOP is definitely only interested in money and Democrats are more for the common working person, but they still have to many that put money before people and they do go crazy on the damn taxes. Want to tax their way out of everything instead of finding alternative more cost effective solutions.

Taxing everybody sounds like a quick fix that will end up ruining the economy.

@lookatdesktop Indeed, especially with corporate America constantly raising prices.

In Canada we call it the New Democratic Party, which focuses on social justice and reform. Oh, then There's the Green Party. This party is more environmentally focused rather than economically focused. And lets not forget the Bloc Quebecois, who wish to separate Quebec from the rest of Canada...~sigh~
You should be so fortunate to only have two parties up your butt. The other three partys in Canada have never taken the Prime Ministers Office. Only the Liberals and the Conservatives have ever taken office in this country. In other words...Democrats and Republicans.

Well, two parties that are in constant oppoisition with each other is mainly a terribly inneffective system and there will be future empasses and grid locks and stalemates between these two systems of thinking that will only delay any real progress that works well for all people involved.

Yes, anything is better than what we have right now.

I used to vote Republican but over the years I felt that the party and its candidates did not share my views and did not look out for regular working people like me, they definitely did not want to protect me or my rights as a woman, and they did not seem interested in protecting the environment. Those things are all important to me so I wound up changing the party/candidates that I voted for.

Yes, I too favor any party that supports saving planet earth, rather than digging for more oil, natural gas from frracking and the environment needs to be protected so anyone or any party that is opposed to this point of view is not a good solution but more of a problem.

Actually I prefer there are only 2 parties. Having a multi-party democracy is quite chaotic. I have seen this
