Therapists Aren't Trying To Turn You Into A Robot

In therapy, therapists give advice to their clients to change their beliefs so they'll develop a belief system that is rational and emotionally healthy so the person will feel better and be able to better handle the challenges that life often throws at them. But they're not trying to turn their clients into emotional robots. For example, if a client tells the therapist that they have anxieties that are worse than normal and are out of proportion to the situations, the therapist will then give advice to them so that their anxieties become more normal. However, if the client tells the therapist that they only get somewhat anxious in situations that anyone would get a little nervous, the therapist will probably tell the person that that's normal.

My experience with these kinds of therapists is that they are trained on books, not life, and usually their lives are more messed up than the person they are trying to treat. Just my experience, Not saying anything about you.

the physical therapists who attended to my sister during her 8 sessions of therapy were all cordial to us and answered her questions candidly. no, they do not inject their own principles to my sister.

Yes, that is why they are therapists! They are formally trained people who know how to handle a person in crisis, which varies from person to person! Thanks @MainerMikeBrown!

Thank you for sharing these facts that therapists are not trying to turn us into robots.
