Good Tuesday morning from this side of the planet! The sun is shining brightly and we expect another hot day again today.
Yesterday before I and my sister went to the dental clinic, I received a phone call for her. Manang F, the caller, asked me if my sister will go to the wake of their classmate today because another classmate arrived here in our city for the interment of their deceased male classmate. I told Manang F that we have to be in the clinic later.
Few minutes ago, I received another call from Manang F, and my sister responded. I am beside where our landline phone is so I pretty much hear their conversation, or how my sister answers any question of Manang F.
White lies! That is what I thought to myself when my sister said she cannot go to the wake because she has some things to do at home, like changing the battery of our wall clock, supervising our laundrywoman in cleaning the house, and many more reasons. (The battery of the wall clock was already changed and my son mounted it on the wall before Manang F called).
I hope my sister will be true to herself, and be honest as well.

Good morning po, Ingrid. I agree with you. Your sister could just be directly honest to her friend instead of saying excuses.

@ridingbet Good morning po. Maybe she was thinking that if she say a white lie, it wont make the other person feel bad? Lying to oneself and hurting others in the process.

@rakski to the wake? no, because she should have gone with her classmates. she knows that when i am tired and exhausted, i just sit and not do chores. that is my clue when i don't feel well.
actually, i was tired when i accompanied her to the hospital and dental clinic and i told her that.

Changing a Battery on a wall clock? And the supervision of someone doing laundry? Is this wake in the morning when work is usually being done, or your sister just wanting to make excuses instead of facing up to the Truth?

I think people do that most of the time without thinking much of it - just a means of getting out of a tight situation. i suppose that is the reason why they are called -white lies. How many men would tell their wives when asked - "yes honey you are looking very fat and unshapely lately" - or " yes, I really do hate your parents."
