I Used To Do This Very Thing

So weird. When I was young I started this practice where whenever my friend and I drove over a railroad track we put our fingers of the right hand on the roof of inside of the car. I just started doing it. Something I thought up. Well, on this show about superstitions this gal does the same thing. She says she does it or she thinks the tires will fall off. My reasoning wasn't quite so dramatic. How weird!

That is kinda weird. So you would also put the fingers there to prevent the tires from falling off?

We always lifted our feet when we went over tracks.

that is strange. kind of like my step dad saying it's bad luck to walk around with one shoe on. he never said why or what would happen nor even why a person would do that.

That is weird. My grandmother always tried to keep us from counting the cars as she believed that a person you knew would die soon after.

Weird how superstitions come into being.

I've seen people do that. I thought it was to keep from hitting your head on the top of the car as the tracks can be very bumpy.

We always held our breath going over bridges and lifted our hands and feet from touching anything when crossing railroad tracks. Just for fun, we had no feeling of doom if we didn't.
