I'm Doing Better!

When I first started knitting socks, it would take me two to five months to get a pair finished. I wasn't all that cracked up about knitting socks in the first place. The double-pointed needles looked so intimidating. But, I kept it up and, now, after knitting at least a dozen pairs of socks over the last few years, I can get a whole pair done in two weeks. That is the plain socks. Depending on the difficulty of the design in the stitching, it might take an extra few days or up to a week. Overall, I am doing better at knitting socks!
The socks that I finished knitting today are of the Patons Kroy Socks Stripes in the Blue Striped Ragg colorway. The fiber is 75 Wool/ 25 Nylon.

Thank you. The yarn is self-striping. I like the bright colors.
I am still learning, too. It took me about 50 years of knitting and crocheting before I knit my first pair of socks.
What do you like to knit? Have you done any fair isle work? I haven't done that yet but really would like to. I haven't scraped up enough courage yet to try it.

@bluerubymoon53 Personally, I am still at the looking at the needles stage! As for fairisle, never tried no, although Fairisle is an island close to us, maybe I should!

@destry Maybe you could go to Fairisle for inspiration!
My inspiration for the socks this year is the Sock Knitting Club that I joined at the first of the year.

That is a very good looking pair of socks, I am impressed. I crochet but I don't have the patience for knitting.

Thank you. I have been knitting off and on for 50+ years (but more seriously the last 7 or 8 years) and didn't start knitting socks until about 4 years ago. This is my year for socks!

That is creatively cool. Do you sell the socks you make?

The socks are rather plain in making them. The yarn is dyed to make the stripes while being knitted into socks. I have not sold any of the socks I have made.

@bluerubymoon53 Thank you for the info. I did not know that is how the socks are made. Awesome.
