Honestly, I am not a GMO (Genetically Modified Organism) food supporter. I just love it more when it's natural and organic. I do not believe in chemistry, especially when it's in food. What is your opinion on GMO foods? Do you support GMO?

For example, my mother has a garden. She does not add any chemistry to her plants and everything grows nicely. And the taste of her fruits and vegetables is beautiful.

@Lost93 Yes, if no artificial chemicals added to the plants, it will grow naturally and beautifully.

Saying you don't believe in chemistry is an ignorant statement. "especially when it is in food". . . so you don't believe in baking or cooking? Genetically modifying something isn't chemistry anyway--it is biology.

@NJChicaa "Genetically modified organisms are those whose genetic material has been changed in vitro (in the laboratory) of nucleic acid techniques, including recombination of desoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and direct injection of nucleic acids into cells or organelles. The effects of the use of such organisms as food are not published by the official institution. Independent institutions and experts have, for years, warned of both short-term and long-term negative consequences of GMO consumption through the effect on the generation." For me, it's chemistry.

Yes. I mean chemicals that are added to food. Like various preservatives that are harmful to our body. Personally, I call it chemistry. Everything that is not natural must be chemical. Yes, in practice it is biology. But what exactly do they do, that rarely who knows?

I definitely prefer real organic foods. In fact when I cook I like to make one ingredient Foods. Now that doesn't mean that I cook with only one thing in the dish but it means that each ingredient that goes into the the dish is comprised of one ingredient. I like a lot of spices or it just Basil or Thyme... Or garlic powder there's a lot more that goes into that like additives and preservatives. If I do buy butter I buy butter that is two ingredients cream and salt. Although I'm more likely to get ghee. If I do buy ice cream for my son I get him ice cream that is only a few ingredients same with his bread. The problem with buying sauces rather than making them yourself is that there's a whole slew of ingredients that are really bad for you all kinds of chemicals as you say additives preservatives all kinds of things seem with the meat we eat when it's not organic. If we eat meat which I tend not to I will eat fish I'm more of a pescatarian than anything. Do you eat meat to eat prepared foods like frozen pizzas, boxed Foods, saucess off the shelf? If you do I would look at the ingredients of that as well since you were concerned about GMOs you might want to look at what else is going into your body as well. And if you eat meat look at where your weed is coming from same with you fish and other Seafood.

I understand the point of the story. Fortunately, there are not many GMO foods in Serbia. I even think that there is almost no such thing at all. Almost launched discussions on how to approve GMO, but I'm not for that.

Not all the members on this international site know what English abbreviations mean. It would be helpful to add the meaning of the three letters.

@Lost93 It's very likely that you're surrounded by like-minded people. That's the normal situation. When you are on this site for some time, you understand that people's interests are *very* diverse. Imagine a member from the Philippines writing about a sportsperson. He/she only mentions the name assuming that "we all" know that he's the current Filippino wrestling champion or whatever. The examples are endless. You're not alone in this. It's a common occurrence that members think that *their* world is *the* world. Their reaction is always the same as yours, namely, they think that what they know is common knowledge. No harm done and no need to apologise. You haven't insulted anyone intentionally.

@MALUSE You're right. In my surroundings and wherever I was, everyone at least knew what the abbreviation GMO meant. So I thought that was the case here too. I apologize for being different here. In the future, I'll keep an eye on it.
