Went down to Fort Erie Canada, Ontario, Last year while visiting my mom in 2017. Summer brings out a lot of critters, Raccoons, Skunks, Spiders, flies, But at least they don't come at you like Bee's!! I literally went upclose with my canon camera to a live beehive inside a tree, They didn't sting me as long as I didn't make them feel threatened! I had to be careful because there were thousands and I didn't have protection on so I had to watch out for STD's... No not really but it sounds good :3

I would avoid a bee swarm myself. One bee can a problem. A bunch of bees is a major headache.

It's alright if your careful and dont pose a close threat, Even a bear doesn't get attacked until he break protocol and becomes invasive to the bees.

You certainly did get up close and personal with the hive.

That's for sure, I had to make sure I was quick and didn't stick around too long incase they do get agitated from me being around too long.

I love bees but I would never approach a hive. There is a beekeeper in my neighborhood I should ask if I could take pictures of them.

Wow a free colony of bees in a log, you would have had a good start to become a beekeeper.
