Lately, Me and my partner are going outside to buy some snacks in the store. We buy "puto" (steamed rice cake) and "bananaque". My money is enough for it so we don't have money left for drinks, I said, it's ok we have lots of water in our house . So when we are going outside and about to leave and take a cab, I had seen money on my footstep crumpled. It is 50 pesos (Philippine money) or $1. There's no other person except me and my partner there. I remembered we don't have drinks yet, so I pick it up and go back inside the store. We buy a pack of juice that same as the price of $1. Then go back home. I realized after, Am I BAD??? I know that it is bad to get money that is not ours. Guys, Am I a Bad person?

Well, the money has no name and perhaps there's no other person in that pathway, but the both of you so I think it's yours. Finders, keepers.

I think that very feeling of being guilty shows that you are a clean person! I don't think you are a bad person as you have just picked up the money lying on the footstep and you have tried to see if there is anyone there to return in case that belonged to them! You have not stolen the money or had it by cheating any one! So I think that is alright and you have put back the currency into circulation which might have gone into trash bin ! Thanks!

I think it is fine to pick it up. There are no names in it.

You are right take it and spend it because we do not know the nature of the money. The most important thing is that do not pick up any red packet with money or it will be really bad.

Are you seriously asking if you are a bad person if you pick up a small bill? If you don't pick it up, someone else will. Of course, the case is different if you find a big sum of money, for example, in a briefcase someone has forgotten. Then you should take it to the police. At least, I'd do this in Germany. I don't know if you can trust the police in your country to find the owner of the money. Here it is like this: if the owner can't be found after a certain time (I don't know how many months), the find is yours.

You're not bad.Someone is lazy and careless to lose money, maybe. You kept it from going in the trash, sewer or compost pile.If someone doen't want to lose their money, they need tobe more careful and keep their things where they belong.

No, that doesn't make you a bad person, if it were a large sum of money you should probably turn it in and see if someone will claim it, but a small amt is ok.

@cheche28 If you did not see who it was from or have no way of finding the owner and it was on your doorstep you should be able to keep it. It is too bad for the one that lost it.

Absolutely not a bad person. I'd have definitely picked it up too. Gain some, lose some. It's the way it works.
