Trying out a new protein powder

Despite having been an avid smoothie maker for the past several years, I still have not found "the one". As in, my favorite protein powder. I have been trying many and just havent found one I loved. The hard part is I am also not one to spend a bundle of money on these things. Maybe $30-35 max on a big bottle. So that limits my options.
This was one I found at Target for $22 for about 12 ounces, called Tone It Up. Plant based protein, 15g and 90 calories per scoop which seems like a decent ratio. I also like the idea of plant protein versus whey protein (anyone agree or disagree out there?)
The taste leaves much to be desired sadly though. I had hoped it would be similar to PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter but I was sadly mistaken. It has a chalky taste to it and only a hint of peaut butter.
Have you tried this kind? Do you have a protein powder you swear by? Also how do you feel about whey versus plant protein? Do you think one os better thanthe other?
Happy Tuesday all!

You have to be careful with that stuff, most of it is not right. Better to ask a nutritionist but I get we are poor. Best to look up online. Even if there is a lot of trolls, you can get the truth if you can read between the lines. Or just ask a nutritionist for a consultation which should be free, but problem is if they good you will want to give them money, but if none to spare. Maybe if you could give them 10 bucks for their time.

@Daelii Yeah, but really do not trust. We live in corporate America and Trump just killed all those laws.

@maezee the vanilla one is what we use. Ive also used the chocolate or vanilla version of pure protein which is sold at Walmart and its pretty good.
