Before I had my bath at 2PM, I had a hunch that my cardiologist is not in his clinic, so I asked my sister about the landline number of the clinic in the super mall, and the doctor’s secretary as well.
I sent a text message to Miss Jen but I did not receive any reply. So I and my son went to the hospital for the blood extraction then at4PM, we went to the super mall, in the third floor, and went inside the clinic. There were no patients so I asked the receptionist (Miss Jen was not around) when will the cardiologist have his clinic days.
I was given the schedule but only on Wednesdays in the mall, and none in the hospital. I therefore sent by text message the result of my blood examination to the cardiologist but up to now, I haven’t received a response from him yet. I asked him if I should continue with the dosage of my Coumadin intake.
We are home now, and I have sent a couple of text messages to my cardiologist-no reply yet.
This is my dilemma with my doctor. He seldom replies to text messages to his patients. The secretary also did not answer me back. Could it be maybe she has no load in her mobile phone?
How would you react if your doctor does not respond to your messages regarding the medicines you take?

Good evening po. Hmmmm.... But he knows that you have an appointment with him today?
I would usually be disappointed as I am taking my medications.

yes hija. his secretary Miss Jen has a big logbook where the schedules of his patients' appointments are jotted down. the style is like this:
after i am seen by my cardiologist and given me the request for my laboratory examination, he schedules me for my next check-up. last month was my previous appointment and i am given a month to take the revised dosage of coumadin.
then, i tell the secretary outside his booth of my scheduled blood extraction--that is my next follow-up check-up day. the secretary tells me what ordinal number am i. (today, i was supposed to be #8). my doctor already replied a few hours ago. but i will have to go back after 1 month for the PTPA extraction again.

@mlgen1037 it should be once every 2 months hija. it became once a month when my result went high and my coumadin intake had to be revised. if my next extraction next month will be normal, i think i will have my check-up every 2 months again.

my cardiologist gives his number to all patients but he only receives text messages and not calls. he has another number for calls. he is not a surgeon. the reason why he is in Manila is because he is attending a seminar for cardiologists.

wow, here .. no one would even have access to a doctors cell phone to send text messages.. which is a good thing or I would be out of a job.. as I am the answering service for many hundreds of doctors.. people call the office # and they get me and I will take the messages and send them to the doctors. :)

@ridingbet no, we have a computer.. we take the messages when the patients call in and page it (Text) or call... to the doctor. He would then return calls . the messages we take are then physically faxed over to their office in the morning,.

it is not the case of the doctors here, and my cardiologist here.
he usually gives his mobile number to all his patients but he only replies thru text messages and not thru calls. he has another number for calls.
he may be in the seminar this afternoon when i sent him the text, but now, i already received his reply.
I posted his response that I received while ago in @mlgen1037's comment

no, i would not change him as my cardiologist. he is the best cardiologist here in my city and he knows my medical history. even when i was confined and he had a seminar, he left me under the other cardiologist's management, but when he came back, he still saw me as his patient.

Supposedly I will have a checkup with my Nephrologist a week after I was discharged from the Hospital.
I message her secretary first to get an appointment since she has a lot of patients to attend to.
Too bad because until now I can get an appointment because my doctor is still out.
And I'm dying to know the result I have which I need to have her check.
We already paid her through our Philhealth and we can't get hold of her because of some out of the country thing she always has.

your nephrologist is a female, hija? oh, i hope she is back now so you will know the result of your 2D echo (but i thought the cardiologist should inform you of the result of your heart?)
