As the old song says, put my little shoes away. It's time to polish this series off, the one that's dealt with favorites that have footwear (nine "shoes" and one "sneakers") in the title. Not much of a surprise to see this one at the top of the list, I suppose. Here it is. #1: Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes - George Jones The answer to the question in the title? No one. That's one of the problems with music today: they're looking for "the next" (insert whoever was popular five months ago), not a singularly unique sound to blaze his/her/their trail. All the people Jones mentioned in this song -- from "the outlaw who walks through Jessi's dream" (Waylon Jennings) to "Jerry Lee and Charlie" (Lewis and Rich) -- had a completely different style. That's what made them so great, so worthy of being mentioned in this lovely tribute song...and so irreplaceable. Just like the man singing the song. Thanks for reading. @amadeo -- yeah, things are going quite well. I'm busy with housework and physical therapy on my back (yet again). Thanks!

It is hard to fill the shoes of Classic Country stars like Hank Williams, Patsy Cline and Merle Haggard to name just a few others in addition to the ones you mentioned

The angels will fill their shows but only if they are red ones.
