a skill, a shower, and anger management

So this week has been hard with having to just wash nasty places on me from a sink bowl. I know, awful mind sight My time for visits ran out for nurses and shower help. I don't mind the nurse part but showers was very much needed for help. They called from doctors this morning to ask some questions in order to get my insurance to agree to more help come here. I told the lady I just mostly needed the shower help and she said I can't have just that, its like a package I have to take something else to help with a skill ! What? what skill? This language of medical insurance I just don't understand. Like I told her, I think the nurses were coming just to check on me over the feet thing, or maybe the COPD or arthritis, any number of things ! not a "skill" she said she would work on thinking of how I could get back the shower help. Next thing today , Clay is of course upset over something he is not getting. Gosh this man needs anger management. the noise gets on my nerves so bad. That's it ! I will tell them the skill I need is how to stay calm and collected and keep my blood pressure under control with this guy around

I hope that you can get your care back. For my mom when she was at home, we paid $35 for private care to come in and help her to shower. We did it every other week because that was what she could afford but it was worth it.

oh i am sure it is worth it. if i could find one that reasonable, i guess i could do that. my insurance was paying all of it before. just hope it will again.

@bunnybon7 We used Interim healthcare to get our aid, in a pinch, it might be able to work for you.

I think that they want to send you a more skilled nurse, this is why they have to check.

they check to see just how much help i need and if i have that. but they don't always get the complete picture of how daughter does not have time nor energy to do so. work nights and try and get sleep during the day. its tough.

@bunnybon7 I have been unable to help my mom when she came out of the hospital. The nurses have the habit to lift people, I made a big effort to help and then I needed physiotherapy because I strained my wrist.

So sorry Bun that is just what you don“t need. Could your daughter not help you out with a shower say twice a week. As for the other one he does need to do anger management by the sound of it. Sending you good wishes for him to behave better and let you have some peace. Also a big hug for better times for you goodness knows you need it.

Would having a good chair in the shower area, help? They do that in hospitals' showers and I have to admit, it helped me greatly when I couldn't stand very well. (I didn't want to ask anyone for help then and rather did it my way .)
