They look at me like a freak

Hello my friends. Ever happened to you that some of your friends consider you a freak due to being different from the majority? But first things first: let me tell you what inspired me to post this discussion. In the world of civil engineering certain people make tons of money by buying cheaper materials than the ones prescribed by the project. Some of my fellow egineer colleagues have told me something like “let us be honest with ourselves. We would do the same if we had the chance” to which I replied with something like “no, I wouldn’t. Speak for yourself” to which they reply with “yes, you would” and I would reply “no, I wouldn’t” and they would look at me like a freak because of that. Another reason why people look at me like a freak is because I am vegan. They are like “omg, you don’t consume milk either?” to which I reply “yes, I don’t” consume milk either. Apparently for those people being honest and vegan is like being a freaky alien coming from another planet. What is your opinion on this issue?
