Advertising pens tell about life's journey.... if you're the type that love to pick them up at least. As I look around my home I see old pens and pencils with advertising on them. I see the bank we used to do banking at before we moved here. It was my first checking account. There's the brightly colored auctioneer ad pens too. They were pretty to look at, but didn't write the best. An unfortunate association to make with a businessman. More recently there are pens from the car race track, the casino, a bar with fantastic food, pens from the university I went to with it's various departments, and pens from the hotel I stayed at when I did a presentation on mental health and pens from the local meat market and lumber yard. It's a whole bouquet of colors and styles and tells part of my life's journey. On an "honesty" quiz - one of the questions was in relation to taking multiple of "free" ad items such as pens. The implication being that taking more than 1 was dishonest. I take multiples when I can. I never thought if was bad. The purpose of these items is to circulate and spread the word about the business which is advertised on them.
