I Guess most like to do that and its a very good gesture as well. As these days most are busy with their life and work so sometimes its not possible to frequently visit our Good friends or even relatives who are in Good term with us but we can plan some get together's or Meetings like that and
Pamper them with Some Gifts and its Helps in building Good and Strong relations.
We Do that in here.

If I go to my relatives' house, I must bring a gift. If I meet a good friend or classmate who I haven't seen for a long time, I will bring some gift, too.

I don't buy anyone gifts except for my children, their father and my mother.
I took my mother a gift when I went to visit her but that is because her birthday was a week and a half ago
