Once again this idiot puts his foot in his mouth. I'm pretty sure that the Native American countries and tribes would disagree and say that they didn't need to be "tamed". Nevermind all of the other horrors that our country inflicted upon them. . . WHO exactly approved his speech? Or was our Very Stable Genius President ad-libbing? He is a disgrace!
President Donald Trump stressed the importance of being proud of the history of the United States during his Naval Academy commencement address Friday.

He's a bit scary, but comical at the same time, assuming we survive his "presidency." If we do, it says something good about the American political system. Can you imagine if he were actually Dictator?

Anyone hear about his letter to a teacher about Parkland that was filled with errors? It's always sad when you have a politician who can't write very well.

Native American countries? One word. Context. When President Trump said our ancestors tamed a country he was not referring to Native Americans. He was referring to the advancement of the country from a wilderness to a world leader. If you look at old comic books, text books, and other reading material from decades ago up until the 80's you will often see that phrase of "taming the country" being used. It refers not to people, but to the harsh conditions of mother nature. The audience "our" is made up of white, black, asian, and native Americans. Our ancestors would include the ancestors of native americans. I'm not sure Native Americans would like you attempting to use them as political fodder.

@NJChicaa It wasn't used as a reference toward American history, nor was that claim made. That tid bit of Americana culture was included to help show the context of his speech. Why do we know he wasn't "pouring through text books?" Is that implying that he's (as you said earlier) an "idiot?" The man managed to win an election despite the media, Democrat party, Republican party, and FBI being against him. And he did it with less money then the competition. $768 million for Hillary. $398 million for President Trump. All the mainstream financial magazines said his economic policy would be a disaster. He's sitting on the lowest unemployment in over a decade. Then there's the lowest unemployment for women and minorities ever in history. And record after record stock numbers. Political experts went on tv stating his foreign policy would be a disaster. Until that North Korea thing that very well may land him a Nobel peace prize. If he's an idiot what does that make everyone else?

yes, comic books are usually used as references for political and American history. We KNOW Trump wasn't poring through textbooks or other contemporaneous pieces of press.
