I had this problem with the 2nd mobile phone that my big brother gave me. It is a hand-me-down phone and this time the phone has a load until the 4th of next month. When a number miss-called me in my other Globe number , naturally I texted back with the one phone (my number starts with a 0977,while the number that received the misscall is 0927). I was surprised because there was no keyboard; instead it has the instruction to "tap to speak". I had to seek assistance from my son so after a few moments the keyboard was back. When I tried to speak to ask my load, what was typed was not what I said. Even my laughter was also recorded and printed on screen. I would rather type my thoughts than speak on my mobile phone. Do you?

I surely prefer to type than to speak, it's faster and it's more accurate.

my problem too is the dictionary or predictive texts. when i was having a chat with my classmates for the get-together tomorrow, i committed many errors so i made another message rectifying my mistakes.

@ridingbet I immediately notice those who use a phone with the auto-complete function here. There are plenty of words that are wrong (where instead of we are - to instead of too). Technology is fine, but people should try to use a little bit their brains too.

@LadyDuck i agree. now, for me, that is why i err in spelling, this is due the keyboard of the desktop is not lit when i type at night, or on my phone, i am sometimes hurrying to post my comment

Is that Siri po? I do not like to speak but just type it because it is easier to convey a message.

no hija. it is not Siri. there is an app of the brand of the mobile phone that has the 'tap to speak' mode.

@ridingbet lol. Sometimes.. I think you have to speak VERY CLEARLY. and you can say period, or Exclamation point, question mark.. whatever... when you reach end of sentence and it will put it there. I like that.

I've tried it, and was surprised it even understood me. I prefer to text, if I have to text. Though I prefer above all to talk to a person. Texting is so impersonal.

oh, so you talk to the person you wish to communicate, am i right? i think the phone is for persons who cannot read the keyboard so it prefers to 'listen' to the words and type it down.

Some of my young relatives love using that voice thing. I dislike it intensely.

yes that is true. for those who are hard up in typing, they can talk to their phone so their message will be printed and sent to the recipients.

@aureliah if it is the phone app doing the writing, i think spellings are already checked depending on how you pronounce certain English words.

aw. ahahaha. so this phone has screen instead of the usual keypad. You will be able to get the hang of that soon. You just need some practice. And let your son teach you a thing or two.

the screen is the phone screen, that is what i mean. the keyboard or keypad is back. the app is deactivated.
