Yesterday I went to go see the new Star Wars movie centered around the character Han Solo. It was a good movie. Told a good story and gave a good background on the Han Solo character along with Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian. You got to see how they all met and how they developed a bit to what we got to know them as in the Star Wars franchise original trilogy. You even got to see the Millenium Falcon as to how it looked before all of the battle damage. A lot of the film made sense. But there was one thing that just annoyed the heck out of me. Landos' robot, L3. To me it came off as a SJW feminist run amok spewing out all of the cliche terminology and phrases, but with robots in its place as the victims. The robots were even forced to do things against their "will" by being controlled by some sort of control box on their bodies. Once the control boxes were removed I felt as if I were watching a time period film during the age of slavery. Behing me in the theatre I even heard someone say,"Why did they go there?" To me this annoyance is minor compared to Jar Jar in part 1. He's still at the top! If any of you have seen the film, did this robot/droid seem a bit "out of place" to you also? Or did it feel like a certain agenda or issue was being forcefully shoved at you? My rating= a strong C+ Photograph- Taken/Owned by me, Plethos

It's not for me, and I heard it wasn't very good. Glad you enjoyed it.

I can see as to why the movie was underwhelming at the box office.

@Plethos I have enjoyed some of the Star Wars movies, but I'm more of a Star Trek girl

Okay... I haven't watched any of the Star Wars movies. (I have seen bits and pieces of the different movies, so I know who you (and everyone else, apparently) are talking about, though.) Yes, I may be a tad behind in my movie watching. (I am very likely to remain behind, in reference to movies like that, too.) Since you gave it a strong C+, I am guessing you enjoyed most of the movie. Edit to add: Just so you know, I had to look up SJW since I've never heard the term before... (Wondering how many other things I didn't care enough about to learn about them before you brought them to my attention. Somehow that sentence doesn't scan right, but... Nah, it's another thing I don't care about... )

Haven't seen this, might wait till it arrives on the small screen... What riled you about the floppy-eared Jar Jar? If you've written about it here, I'll find it.

@Plethos Well, I know I wouldn't mind seeing a bright, shiny showroom-gleaming Millennium Falcon, so I may go see the film on the big screen after all... As for Jar Jar, yes, a performance best forgotten. Had it been Eccentrica Gallumbits, well... . Different reality, though.

I haven't seen this movie yet and am not sure if I will go see it. I'm sick of Disney running Star Wars into the ground. :(

We saw this on Saturday and I really enjoyed it. I honestly didn't pick up on any agenda or issue. I just loved her voice!

it was annoying to me, i like her in game of thrones but not as a robots voice in star wars.
