My Stomach Thanked Me Tonight... LOL

When God was dishing out talents, I am so grateful that He gave me the ability to cook, and flavor my food well. I even amaze myself sometimes, at how well the flavors turn out... Tonight... I had leftover barbecued pork ribs, with corn that I flavored with butter, and Mrs. Dash. Then I took a sweet potato, and nuked it in the microwave for approximately 3 to 4 minutes. Afterwards... I sliced it opened, buttered the inside; then took some brown sugar, and patted it down well. I closed it back up, then buttered the outside. I lightly sprinkled some salt on all sides. Then I wrapped it with tin foil, and placed it in the oven for roughly 30 minutes. This sweet potato turned out so tender and moist...with just enough sweetness. My taste buds were singing the hallelujah chorus! A lot of singles will not go through the trouble to cook the way I do. But I got to eat too, and I want to eat food that tastes good. And I really enjoy cooking, and eating my food. LOL Again... It tastes, and smells so good. About a month ago... One of the guys came out of his room, begging me to have a plate of the food, I was preparing. He said it smelt so good, that he would give me $5, if I gave him a plate. So... I did... LOL I am so grateful to God, that He gave me the ability to cook really, really, well!

Hi Teresa. Sadly, God did not give me that gift. I hope I can have the chance to taste your cooking.

I love to cook too. I use most of my leftovers and that means that I save a lot too. Most of the times the result of the dish made with leftovers is as good as the first one.

Definitely. The seasonings have more time to fuse into the food, so leftovers almost always taste better. Only the ribs were leftovers tonight. That is why I am glad the other stuff turned out so well.

I am happy that you have the cooking skills. I must admit that it is not my cup of tea.

That is why everyone has different talents. You are more than likely good at something, that I am not.

Wow... That is a long life. Mine liked to cook as well, but she passed at 56. I have already passed her. My 60th birthday was last week. I am grateful to have made it this long, but I sure do miss her. Both my mom's mom, and my dad's mom lived to be 93. So I have a fighting chance. LOL

The old saying... Practice makes perfect. None of us started off as good cooks. You just need to practice, and the more you do, the better you will get.
