Do You Call Yourself Names?

I know someone that calls himself stupid everytime be makes a silly mistake, and recently I've found myself doing the same thing which I need to nip in the bud right now. Mostly I will say my name more than once which at least isn't dorogotory. Although, I stop others when they say my name there times like the old TV show. When I do it I'm not being mean but..
I went to the mechanics this morning for new wiper blades and to check out my tire and also to find out why my horn doesn't work. I thought I might need a fuse or something. They got the horn too honk right away when it never works for me. I may have gotten it to work once or twice since getting the van last April.
Come to find out the horn isn't on the sides where the icons are but rather to the left above the emblem on the middle. I've since gotten it to work more than once.

It needs to be copied and pasted since I already have one link. Or you can look below.

I got a bit confused this week with the holiday and all. Our trash gets picked up on Monday's but when the holiday is on a Monday then it comes on Tuesdays. Our big trash pickup is technically the first Monday of every month but since trash is taken on Monday's they come Tuesday's instead.
I've mucked it up more than once and missed it for varying reasons. This week I thought I was doing pretty good as I got it out late Monday night. I noticed today that my pile of twigs was still at the curb and almost called to find out why. Before following through on that I realized and remembered that it won't get picked up until next Tuesday, duh.
I may be around more this coming week as I'm in another unna boot and have the week off from cashiering so I can keep my foot in the air to push the healing along faster, hopefully.
(Edited to fix typos).
Here is the link to a teaching on What Matters. It's a lot about forgiveness for our Mother's and also for ourselves.

I say stupid but not to blame to myself. Usually it was to just to laugh at my mistakes.

Yes, but one day it could be worse than that. It's better to stop that behavior now. If we hear something often enough we could end up believing it which wouldn't be good at all

@mlgen1037 depending on what part you were trying to underline there, the code needs to go on either side of your word or phrase
Depending on the device your using some are almost impossible to see where to put you word. What I do is do it as I go. They use the flat brackets here which on my phone is the second number page. You put the left bracket and then either the b, u, or i, and then the right bracket . Then between the two sets of brackets your word. Such as [ ] bold [/] . Then you follow your word or phrase with the ending code. That is always left bracket, slash, then the b, u, or i and then right bracket.
Once you do it that way it's much simpler. The emoticons should follow the same except they have em in the brackets. On the left it's alone and on the right it follows the slash. With the name of the emoticon within the two sets. Here it says surrender.

I respect myself so much I would not label it with any negative name, positive ones yes especially when I get to achieve something.

Well that's great. Just make sure you don't revert to using negative ideas about yourself or your actions as you get older. Especially once you begin forgetting more things.

I try to speak kindly to myself. I read along time ago that we should be careful what we say to ourselves as we may come to believe it.

Exactly. I never called myself stupid in the past and certainly don't want to start doing so now. I would like to break my friend of his bad habit.
I listened to a teaching take recently that talks about it and I hope to include a link here. It was done for mother's day to show people the need to forgive their moms and themselves as well.

As Heather says ( @GardenGerty ) we program ourselves to become what we think we are, so it is best to have a good opinion of one's self. As for forgetting things, I have always done that so I don't associate it with chronological age. Just get well with that foot!

My foot is currently over my heart but I don't think I will be able to keep the unna boot on for the week. I can barely walk with it. If they can't really it maybe the ßupport house with an ace wrap will do the trick.
maybe I can finally lose the weight I've been working on for months.

I can understand mixing up the garage days with how it changes like that. Here it is always set out Monday night and picked up very early Tuesday morning (about 2am). Your mistake with the horn made me laugh. Reminds me of lots of air headed moments I've had!

@MarshaMusselman I hate being woken up at 2am by the garbage men picking up all the garbage bags in the neighborhood. It takes awhile and then I always have a hard time falling back asleep. They have a nasty job to do though so I really need to just be thankful and not complain.

@shaggin I've never heard about that taking place in the middle of the night before my sister lives in Detroit, I will have to ask her if they start that early there. Maybe your city doesn't have enough trucks to get it all done at reasonable hours?
If I were you I'd get ear plugs just for that day. I've always thought it was bad enough when they wake me at eight am.
They do wake us in the winter when doing snow removal in the wee hours of the morning. But, they sound like they are going 59 miles an hour on our little street. They probably aren't, just sounds that way

I don't remember how my last van was set up with the horn. I don't remember whether there was a marking on the steering wheel showing where it should be or what exactly. I didn't know that was a duh thing until the mechanic did it so easily right away.
The part that I really have to remember is when the new month begins close to a monday. Since the big trash comes the first Monday of the month there are times when the holiday is on that date and not the week before like this last one. I've completely missed getting my trash out in the past when looking at the day and where it lands in the month wrong.
Our pickups aren't until 8am where we live as we start the area out.

Well then find some good things to say in response to your errors instead.

I don't call myself names, but when I make a mistake I say "Well that was dumb."

We do stupid and idiotic things, but shouldn't say it to ourselves or out loud so we don't get to believing those words down the line.
From Felix's post it sounds like you might be a believer. Well, God doesn't make any idiots. At least Jesus paid the price for all our flaws even the stupid ones we do.

If you find yourself wanting to, stick with nice things like affirmation type words.
