Favoritism

Does favoritism exist in your family? Of course, if we asked our parents they'll just say "They love us equally" but we can feel it through their words and action that they are favoring someone. Like in our case, my father always in favor of my sister while my mother favor is for me. How about you, do you observe such thing. Does favoritism exist in your family?

@simplfred Exactly! She never admitted that my brother was her favorite, but everybody noticed the difference.

Yes but sadly I am not the favorite one. I am the youngest but I always lonely when I was young but it's ok because I learned a lot of things on my own. My Father loves my eldest sister and my mom loves the second one same.

@simplfred I really hard to overcome the situation. I struggled for a long time and tried to find love to others but no avail until someone came I am just lucky I found my husband who made me understand and accept the situation.

@Bhebelen14 At the end at least we've learned lesson from it for us to use during the time of parenting.

I'm glad that you overcome the situation. There were times of my life that I've acted like a fool revolting with my father because of the favoritism issue. But being a family man now I understand why.

None at all. I love all my children all the same. Though in my own family, my siblings thought that I am the favorite of my favorites. I do not like to argue about it.

Definitely we love all our children. But sometime without our notice jealousy already seeded to one of them. Well, that's only my observation.

@simplfred Its pretty good that my children do not show signs of jealousy because we always try to make it a point that we don't show any favoritism.

So true, I can relate with that. There's a poem I've made about it. Title: To Be A Parent The love they've rubbed is never only a cover If we open their books it contents depth and weight They didn't literally write, they've never used a pen But what historically they've written can't be compare Tired eyes they've hurriedly open Upon hearing the child's cry, they'll look for our wound To give handkerchief when we are sweaty To teach us to fill our space of innocence As countless waves kisses the sand The lesson they've planted to us seems uprooted by air Their ability has also a limit There are definitely things that they cannot fill Our sometimes impossible request Instead to understand, thinks our dreams were killed and the reason was them We think we are wise, that's why we've always answered them We think we are great, that we don't need any medicine As the sun and the moon quickly interchanged Time came that we've regretted It's odd to thinks sometimes when we had gone their way Only then we've understood the value of their book... Note: I don't know if I've translated it right because it is written in our own national language.

@simplfred Wow! it's totally true. in my nation there is a term too, it says " a mom or a dad can care 10 children, but 10 children rarely can care their mom or dad"

Well, when my siblings and I were still young, my third sister is his favorite. However, i am too because i always get new things and them are hand me downs from me sometimes. Good thing his favoritism isn't that obvious because he showed all of ua how much he loves us.

I am the youngest and I could feel that all their eyes are on me. I know and I can feel it. But that doesn't change my love for everyone and I don't take it by heart that favor was on me I am not spoiled coz I still get spanked when I was little but after spanking I get ice cream
