Did you settle down to a career?

I came home from working in Finland and looked for a job at age 18 years old. I found a job at a shipping company in London. My great aunt died and she left me money in her will. I used her money that she had left me to buy a little cottage in Kent. Sadly I was made redundant from my job. In the early 1990s there was high unemployment. I had bills to pay being a home owner. I got more money sent after the sale of my great aunts possessions. So I bought a round the world ticket and got a working holiday visa for Australia. Did you settle down to a career?

Hi Maxima. That is awesome. Your great aunt and you are close to each other? I am happy that you at a young age, you experienced more in life and have become wiser and smarter. So happy for you. I have the career I want. I just want to expand more.

I retired this past January. I was with them for 23 years but it wasn't the career I went to college for. My disability got the best of me so now I'll volunteer with special needs as I can.

I am not sure with the others. I have settled teaching online. It can be flexible and has an option to work it as part-time, I still have the plan to work in a particular company. But then, it is not the right time to hunt a new job.

@maximax8 It was really a good source of income, my friend. I had been teaching online for about 4 years now. I had worked in previous companies that things are not working out financially.

I stayed in Australia for 10 months. I had worked in Cairns and didn't want to travel onto Darwin. I booked a train to Brisbane and on that train I met a man which I fell in love with. I had to leave Australia before my visa ended. He came over to England and we got married. I am now divorced though.

I have made myself a mark in Merchant Navy starting as Junior Engineer and now sailing as Chief Engineer for past 9 years, within a span of 18, but lost a lot in bargain, including family life.

Yes, I got a job with my degree straight out of college and I've been with it ever since then. I am finishing my 17th year at it in a few weeks.
