Katie Porter, The Candidate We Supported, Won her Primary

We are still traveling and will be busy the next ten days. However, I couldn't wait to let everyone know that Katie Porter, the candidate my husband and I have supported the past six months, secured one of the top two spots in the California open primary (also called the "jungle primary.")
This means she will be on the ballot in November, running against the incumbent for a seat in Congress.
After all the hours of hard work put in by Katie, her staff and dozens of volunteers, including my husband and me, we were so thrilled to see her win a spot in the primary! The backs of my husband and I have even appeared very briefly in a couple of her ads (LOL). Our backs are shown about 30 seconds into this ad:

@sallypup - Thank you! And thank you for calling me a patriot! I helped phone people at Katie Porter's office and was shocked at the number of people who did not know we were having a primary election, and how many who did know about the primary but had no idea who was running. That is so sad.

@DianneN - Thank you so much. Now, we just have to help her win her election in November. She is part of the effort to flip Congress to blue. She was endorsed by Senators Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren. She was the first candidate endorsed by Emily's List. However, it will not be easy. No Democrat has won in our District in at least 40 years, if not longer. She will need all the help she can get, but my husband and I are just two of many supporters she has garnered. You would like her. She is smart, funny, hard-working and remembers people. Whenever we walk into her campaign office, she runs up and hugs us!

What a great feeling that must be that a candidate you are supporting is having such success! Now it's time to slay that election in November!
