Truffles

If you haven't noticed, @JudyEv posts a lot of discussions about groovy artwork that she sees around Australia and during her travels. Pigs in particular seem to be everywhere! So I figured I'd join in the fun and post a discussion about a pig of my own.
Here in Colorado Springs, the city holds a yearly contest called Art on the Streets, in which sculptures are placed around the Downtown area. There are prizes awarded to the winning artists, and the sculptures are also for sale.
The city also purchases art for permanent display Downtown as well.
Meet Truffles, a bronze pig sculpted by the late Colorado-based (Beaver Creek, which is next to Vail) artist, Walt Horton. Horton started as a cartoonist, attended the University of Colorado in Boulder, and eventually, moved on to sculpting in his mid-forties.
Sadly, Walter Horton passed away in his sleep in 2010, but fortunately, Truffles will be on display in Colorado Springs for a long, long time.
If you'd like to see more of Walt Horton's work, I've linked to his official website. I took the photo this morning.

Wilbur is the name of the pig who befriended a spider.

Hi Scott. Truffles is the first pig I have ever seen in bronze color and looks so sexy in that pose.

A lot of the sculptures that the city buys are bronze for some reason. Maybe they are cheaper or something.

@teamfreak16 Possible. But are the other sculptures also as sexy as Truffles?

Very fitting, although not quite as good as "Arnold Zieffel."

He was pretty good. Especially for getting into it in his fourties.

I haven't read it since I was a kid, so I don't remember how big Wilbur was. Truffles is pretty big!

@teamfreak16
The personality of the sculpture comes through and reminds me of Wilbur from Charlotte's Web.

I wonder what's the story behind Truffles.

They didn't give one on the website. It looks like he did a lot of animals, though.
