When opening email accounts, it is always expected to be asked of the passwords to confirm who the owner of the account is.
I have 2 email accounts and one is what I constantly use. So when I use the other account, I am always asked about my password. But when I put it, there is another verification needed by Yahoo.
They send me a code to any of my mobile numbers listed, so I place the code in the space provided for.
I think this is better because the risk of other scammers stealing our accounts are lessened. It is for security purposes.
Do you also want Yahoo to send you a code in your mobile phone to confirm the email address is yours? I do.

@ridingbet I think it is the best way to secure our yahoo account. I do this when yahoo requires me to do so.

usually, code digits are sent to my phone every time i log in my YM account. it differs every time i do that. good thing the codes come in an instant so i can punch the right letters to the code and my email opens.

I only use gmail and I always enter my password. I only receive an email to another account if I try to connect using another IP or a device different from my desktop computer. It's a good security. I receive a security code on my mobile to connect to my bank account.

@ridingbet This is a good security system, I also set Facebook to send an email should I login using another device.

yes. for me here, even if i use this desktop computer, YM still sends me if i switch to another account. but if of course i open my email in another computer outside our house, for sure i will be asked my password and they send a code.

as long as your mobile number is in your profile, i think YM sends a code every time you log in, so i don't think you should forget your password because the codes verify if it is your account or somebody is spamming.

I agree with you po. There is now more verification process than before. I would not mind it at all since I am the one using the account.

true, hija, but still i wonder why there are many people who make their business as scamming others, seems they cannot get away with this crime.

@ridingbet I think it is because scammers have different scamming apps or they are really smart people. So sad po that there are people who mean harm to others.

I generally do not like linking things to the phone. But then, that was when I just accessed everything from the desktop. Now, mostly because of computer issues, I am forced to do things from the phone, so... might as well link stuff, I suppose.
But I don't use Yahoo much. So I don't know about this PIN thing. I don't think Gmail has it. But I have several gmails that are linked together so one receives an email notification when the other gets accessed.
I am, however, familiar with PINs sent to the phone related to online banking.
