If you have to renew your passport do not take your photo at the pharmacy

When my husband took the passport photo at the pharmacy, so he can renew his passport, it turned out that it was no good. The application was returned and he was told that he had to resubmit the photo. There was a deadline to do it.
He went back to the pharmacy and they retook his photo at no extra charge. When he showed it to me I told him it was still no good. He never tried retaking the photo anywhere else after that and the deadline to resubmit the photo expired.
Shortly after, they send him back the expired passport but kept the money he initially paid for the renewal, which wasn't cheap. Lesson learned.
Never take passport photos at the pharmacy, even though they are supposedly authorized to take passport photos. And if your photo is rejected and they give you a deadline to resubmit the photo make sure you do it in time. Otherwise, you won't get your money back.
Also, I just found out that the post office does passport photos. That's where we will go to take them. My friend when to them, after the pharmacy photo he took was no good, and it was accepted. And it seems you can even do the renewal there without mailing it in to the passport agency, which is great.

Hi Lena. We take our passport pictures in the Embassy itself but there are some near the universities.

If you do it in the embassy then you don't need to worry about them being rejected.
