Back from Ruthie´s farewell party.

Ruthie is going to Australia with her toddler son and another baby in her belly. She is Andrés wife and she is Australian. They were counting on staying more in Chile (being Australia their last destination) but they decided that Ruthie should go back to Australia to have her baby as everything seems to be better for the baby if he/she is born there. Andrés will stay a couple of months more here while he gets all the papers to take Sombra, their dog, with them. We ate Peruvian dishes made by a Peruvian lady that has worked for Dixie occasionally for a long time. We had tuna causa as starter and ají de gallina with rice as seconds. My mousse was a success. I´m now in bed, tired and happy. And, of course, ready to sleep. Sleep tight, dear friends

My niece has lived in Luxor, Egypt, since her marriage to an Muslim but all four children have been born in Western Australia. I think their feeling was that Australia was more politically stable and having the children born there was some sort of insurance if things should go haywire in Egypt.

@JudyEv That´s what Ruthie said. The only one that would need a resident and working permit is Andrés. Ruthie and Luca are Australians. And that´s why she went to have the other baby there.

From what Ruthiee and Andrés have told me, if the children are Australians they will have a lot of rights.

@marguicha Yes, if they are Australian citizens they would be fully protected in all sorts of ways.

@kepweng , In India we have various cultures and depending upon that people celebrate the parties. This varies from state to state and even from family to family. In India there are many people who are strict vegetarians so they have different menu than the people who are Non vegetarians.
