Wandering mind

My mind must have been off exploring some other planet while I was knitting yesterday. Found myself counting - twenty-seven, twenty-eight, twenty-nine, twenty-ten ... Maybe I was thinking about years instead of stitches. Do you sometimes find your mind wandering whilst you are doing routine things?

Yes,, I went to take a nap, and all I could could think about was everything I should be doing. Some nap.

That happens to me all the time, it's referred to as over active mind syndrome it used to keep me up at night all the time but now I watch TV and it puts me to sleep.

@lynnief I get lost into something that I forget where I am at the time.

I do that too, sometimes I walk into a room and cannot remember why I am in there so I go back outside to the car and it hits me, I was looking for the car keys.

Yes, when the things become monotonous we tend to wander mentally! That happens with me too! I have many favorite time s and places to wander! Thanks!

I think it's always like this. Especially when you do something you know very well.

That is possible too. It does happen to me when I am typing, I completely forget some of the key words that would make a sentence make sense.

Well, it can't be helped specially when we get bored with what were doing. We tend to let our mind fly and think of something else.

Sometimes my mind wanders somewhere else too unintentionally.

I love that twenty-ten, it makes more sense than you think. Yes, I often lose my mind to some off the wall wanderings then suddenly I realize the water is still running because I had wanted to wash my hands. It can be scary to lose yourself in a train of thought.

This gave me a chuckle since I also had on occasion counted in a similar manner.(not knitting since I don't know how) I'm not sure though if my mind was elsewhere
