I prefer to shampoo my hair at night. I take my night bath before 8PM. I also leave the lather on my scalp for 10 minutes then I wash the lather.
My reason for shampooing my hair at night is because my hair will not be exposed to smoke from the passing vehicles, and also for my hair follicles to grow while I sleep at night.
I also like to take another bath at night because I feel refreshed to sleep.
I shampoo my hair every night. How about you, my fellow mylotters? Do you shampoo your hair everyday?

well, i think it depends on the kind of shampoo and how your scalp is if it is dry or moist. there are some brands of shampoo that are for delicate scalp like Johnson's, Dove, and Pantene. do you use any of the mentioned shampoo?

I used to shampoo every morning and take shower at night. But nowadays, I find it much better taking a bath at night time and shower in the morning. I take a bath in the morning when I really need to go out (some place much farther my kid's school).

@ridingbet I think that is okay since if we shampoo at night, the hair still smells fresh in the morning.

@rakski yes, and i like smelling my newly-shampooed hair when i am in bed. the fragrance also makes me drowse off.

i think that is also better. when i have my morning duty though, i shampoo my hair in the morning, but shower at night. i think i will shampoo at night now, since i have already accustomed to shampooing at night rather than in the morning.

I don't have a fixed time to wash my hair. Sometimes in the morning and sometimes in the evening.

@ridingbet I usually wash my hair three times a week in summer and twice a week in other times. Washing your hair every day is not good for your hair.

@caopaopao yes, i know that. it depletes the hair from its natural oil. i don't shampoo my hair and leave the lather for 20 minutes anyway. it is just about 10 minutes then i rinse my hair thoroughly after.

i remember when we had our hospital affiliation there. the water was really so cold so what we did was we sponged our bodies with soap, then splash the very cold water in to our bodies. shampoo is also the same.
anyway, Baguio city is not a hot place to live in and i think there are less smog in the air, so shampooing every other day may be good.

I'm used to taking a bath in the evening and shampoo my hair every night, too. It makes me feel refreshed after a day's work or activities.

with the shampooing at night, all the dirt that we collected the whole day will surely be washed out, to the drain right?

@ridingbet Every other day is fine for me. We have no dust here and it's not humid (except some days). Should I shampoo every day, my hair will become too dry.

@LadyDuck yes, i believe that is true. there are some types of shampoo that tangles the hair more than it untangles.

yes, our place is so humid place so i must shampoo every day/night. i really feel my head light after a whole day of staying outside and gathering the dust, dirt, and grease (!) from the air outside.

i apply a black hair-conditioner for 10 minutes. i shampoo daily because i am using this bar shampoo for hair regrowth. i leave it in lather for 10 minutes and now i see more baby hairs growing from my top.

whenever I shampoo/condition my hair I usually shampoo/condition my hair with more than one coat in sections and layers, since I've grown out my hair really long and since my hair is really thick. I dont use too much shampoo/conditioner per section but i use enough (front, side, and back) on both parts of my head, when my hair is wet I setion front and side areas portion size of conditioner about half the size of my palm with shampoo, and same portion size with conditioner for front and side. same thing on side and back sections. then the same process with the other side of my head.

Yeah, only once a day in the morning. You are making a good point though on shampooing hair at night. I think that'll be great for women's hair.
