Jerry Seinfeld comments on Roseanne Barr being cancelled

Some people may not be affected by racism issues among other current movement campaigns. Jerry Seinfeld seems to think that Roseanne Barr's character should not have affected the cancellation of the show. He seems to have forgotten a former cast member of his own show, Michael Richards, was also someone who's career was demolished after spitting racist comments at a stand-up comedy show. It's sad how there are some people who can still be desensitized to racist comments among other comments that many people need to be fired from their jobs. Even though many jobs were lost from the cancellation of the show, the actors themselves seem to understand why the issue needed to be handled the way it was. I believe if the Jerry Seinfeld show was still on when Michael Richards' situation occurred the show may have had to deal with it and been affected in a different way. Look what certain networks did to the Cosby Show

I was never a fan of Roseanne. I believe that entertainers, athletes and politicians all should be held accountable for their actions and words.

I agree with @GardenGerty. I was never a fan of Roseanne Barr, but I like her show because it showed a different point of view of the Middle Class in America. Unfortunately, I believe Ms. Barr didn't realize that her show didn't correspond with her viewpoints. People have to be careful with what they post online

Hello there Tisha. I warmly welcome you to myLot and hope you enjoy your time here.
Yes, I read part of Seinfeld's comments about Roseanne. It seems like more and more, society feels the need to speak first and apologize later. Actually it doesn't just seem like it, that is the way it is.
Sadly, it does not have to be that way at all. Once one person or group of people start yapping about things they should not, it spreads like wild fire.
Someone please hand me the hose so I can put out this fire. LOL
Oh if only it were that easy.

Hi @betlynfrnds! Thank you for the welcome to myLot.
Yesss!!! I totally agree with your response. I've noticed this a lot especially with so many people on social media. I try to be very careful with what I say online. Sometimes it's best to be quiet before making a comment about something. Hardly anyone seems to say "No comment" anymore. I wasn't going to say anything about Roseanne Barr myself until Mr Seinfeld said something that to me could have been left unsaid.
