Politically incorrect.

I am the owner of a fur coat. It is a beautiful fox fur coat that my father gave to my mother maybe 35 or 40 years ago.
At some point, my mother gave it to me after my father died. And I acquired that awesome piece of fur that I could not longer take anywhere.
I could not return to life the foxes used to make that coat. And even if by a miracle I could do it, they would have died of old age long time ago.
And I might be stoned if caught with that coat in the streets. People throw stones and then ask, here and there.
So, this year, after having it in my closet for over a decade, I decided I´d use it at home, over a house sweater. I would use it to be warm and stop thinking bout what is correct.
It is incorrect to kill animals, it is incorrect to hate people. It is not incorrect, as I see it, to use something that has no way of going back to life or banning books that were written centuries ago because they used "politically incorrect" words.
I would not have liked to live in Aristotle´s Greek democracy. I am both a woman and a descendant of Germans hence I would not have had a soul. Should we ban Aristotle?
What do you think about correct actions?

Hi Marguicha. Correct actions are those that do not hurt others and have integrity.

I agree. Everything and absolutely everything written and spoken can be analyzed and picked apart to find something offensive or twisted as offensive.

I am specially angry that one of my favorite childhood authors (Laura Ingalls) is being banned because around a century ago wrote that where they went "there was no one, just indians". Those people that are talking about correctness have not read their History books.

I think you've found a good, logical use for it. It seems like people enjoy pointing fingers any more. By that I mean they enjoy pointing out anything that's even faintly offensive to anyone, anywhere and making a big deal of it. It gets tiresoms.
The foxes are long gone, but what about leather shoes? Aren't they still in style for rich people?

@marguicha I thought they still made them. It just seems kind of strange that fur is so un-PC while leather, an animal skin, is still okay.

@peavey That is how human mind works
. I always find strange that everyone is so much against smoking (which mainly hurts the smoker) and does nothing against drinking (which can place other people in danger).

My before last sneakers were made of leather (Nike). Now I found that Sketchers were more comfortable. I changed to them, but not because I´m anti leather. They were better.

I also had a fur jacket gifted to me by my mother.
But that was probably over 20 years ago, and I did wear it a couple of times, it was very warm and so dressy-it was beaver fur.
But, within the past 10 years or so I did donate it to a theatrical company, as they expressed interest in it, stating that they could repurpose it. So, that's what I did with mine.
But if you can wear yours as a sweater, why not?

You can wear it the way you said, after all the foxes were killed long ago .
It seems a bit too much if people do stone

Metaphorically stoned, at least. I would be looked upon with disgust.

I thought what a coincidence as I had just replied to your post

I have never been an extremist in anything (except for moral issues, they are important to me). These days, fake furs are everywhere, how can you tell which one is which (in order to object them)? If I were you, I would wear that fur coat happily. (My kids were given quite a few furry coats here. They look gorgeous and fake or not, my kids wore them with pride and no one seemed to say anything but to admire the items.)

If you saw this silver fox coat, you would know
. That´s why I think that it is so unjust to leave it in the closet.
