My icloud and iPhone storage is almost full

I have over 1300 photos on my iPhone. My iPhone storage has only about 2.5 GB left. And I also get a message that my iCloud storage is almost full. I want to remove a bunch of photos from my phone but I don't want them to disappear. How can I get all the photos from my iPhone to my PC? Also, if I remove photos from my phone does that mean they are removed from iCloud as well? And if I remove photos from my phone and then do a backup does that mean they are removed from iCloud?

Hi Lena. I am not sure if they will be removed, so what I do is make another back-up on my laptop.

@lovebuglena I will copy those photos on a folder in my laptop beforehand so that in case I remove something on my phone and it is removed in the iCloud, I have nothing to worry about not having copies of them.

I don't take pics on my phone, so I can't help you.

Save them to a physical external hard drive to be certain you can have them forever. The link below is how to back up photos from iphone to external hard drive. Hope it works for you.

What's an external hard drive? Like a flash drive?

I remember I tried transferring photos to my computer as suggested in this link under Part 1 section but not all the photos would transfer for some reason...

@lovebuglena oh, it show you 5 ways to transfer photos from iPhone to PC. I often used part 2 iTunes and part 5 iPhone transfer software. You can also have a try.

@Liam5Robinson I also installed iCloud for Windows and have the photos on my computer that way. However, the issue I have with that is that if a photo is no longer in the cloud it won't be on my computer. And I think if I delete a photo from my phone it gets deleted from iCloud. Unless I am wrong.
