Good Wednesday high noon to us all, from this side of earth.it was a cool morning, turning warm then hot today.
This morning, I woke up early, so I fixed my bed, took the 3 mobile phones that I charge overnight, and my eyeglasses’ case. I thought my pair of spectacles was inside the case, but it was not there. I searched it and there it was, concealed under my side pillow. I took it when I saw the right lens/glass is not attached. Oh, my! I cannot see with one eye only.
I found the lens and tried to reattach it, but all in vain. I had the funniest facial grimace and expression to reattach the glass but I cannot. Worse, that piece to support the nose bridge or the nose pad is also removed.
Immediately, I looked for my old spectacles but I cannot focus. So this morning, after my bath, I went to the city proper and have it reattached.
I even messaged one pretty lady about my leaving the house.
It took 20 minutes to do the process, not because it was difficult, but because there were so many customers of the optical clinic. It was also free of charge, thanks to the man who did it.
I would not want to have a piece of the lens fall off when I am on duty, though in the past, I had that experience and my students would pick up the fallen lens.
And I have to keep my eyeglasses in its case at night after I check on mylot or play games.

@mlgen1037 yes hija. actually, we are already 'suki' to that clinic and the chief optometrist is an old friend of the family.

@ridingbet Yey now it is okay. Good thing it is free of charge. If that happens, you can go anytime and it is free of charge?

@LadyDuck but it is still safe and secure i think, because you floor is carpeted? my room's floor is wood, our living room's floor is marble. so, anywhere my glasses fall, there may be breaks.

I toss and turn and so having my glasses in my bed is not a good thing. Sometime last year I woke up and was searching my glasses out. I found them in my bed. I had fallen asleep while reading a book and in my tired state didn't put them back properly.
We have a small screwdriver that works for our eyeglasses and so we can normally fix them at home. I usually have someone else fix mine (in the house) when it is needed.
I hope you have a good rest of your day.

yes it would be nice if i have the screw driver, but my glasses is rimless so it was hard for me to put the lens back.

@ridingbet Oh I see. Sometiems it is better to pay a few dollars and get them repaired professionally. There is a glasses repair place in my town that only charges around $12 for his service.

@ScribbledAdNauseum an optician or somebody who has knowledge in putting back things, should be called and approached when we break our eyeglasses.
once, i did fix my eyeglasses because the lens kept on falling. i applied a small amount of Bulldog, an adhesive liquid, but my fingers did stick and i cannot separate my thumb and index finger.

yes it is. when i was using my old glasses, the left lens falls, and my student picks it up,once even under the car, but good thing the car is stationary in place.

@ridingbet I chucked some out (two were broken, one with no nose pieces, one with one lense kept falling out). Yes, I have about 10 pairs or more here. (There are often special deals close to Christmas, just pay an extra $50 or so, and we could get a second pair for free.

@YrNemo one free? that is awesome, but are these specs made-made? i mean, you don't have to go through the eye examination and read those letters from the Snellen's chart to know your visual acuity?
i have about a dozen of broken specs, sme broken and missing parts.
