We Have Changed Our Plans and I Like These Plans Better!!

We were going to fly home next weekend to find a house to buy while we were there, but decided that finding a house over a weekend was asking for trouble. We would not enjoy the looking because of how much stress that we would be under. And then we would have to go back a second time for the lawyer and the final check to make sure that everything is working and in good condition. This morning hubby came up with a new plan. We are going to rent for a year and then if we like the area, we will buy some land and have a house built. That gives us an entire year to relax, plan the layout of the house and then move in at our own leisure.
You have no idea how much better I feel. I did a little looking at houses in the area we were thinking about and I just couldn't seem to find one that would work... and if we had to find a house in a weekend, the chances were even less likely. I am almost getting excited about the whole prospect!
Next weekend, we can look at some rental properties and visit family at the same time!
Feeling optimistic!!
Anyone else thinking about moving in the coming year??

I definitely think so too. I would love to be able to take our time and find the perfect and LAST HOUSE we will live in! :)

Nope, no moving plans. However, if rent goes up again due to peoples pay going up, then we may have to.

Haven't quite decided but I think that we want privacy with our last house. I want to be able to go out to the garden in our pjs if we want to lol!

I think you've made a great decision. Moving in itself is so stressful but trying to buy something in a short period of time is too much added pressure. Good luck with the move
