First Cousins and Famous People

In many cultures it is frowned upon, even illegal to marry your cousin. Charles Darwin, Edgar Allen Poe and Albert Einstein all married their first cousins. Darwin had ten children, Poe married her when she was 13 years old. I wonder how their kids did in the world.

We don't allow close relatives to get married here. It is said that their next generation will not be smart. I don't know whether this is true or not.

Jerry Lee Lewis married his 13-year-old cousin, too.
Poe had no children. That may be good, can you imagine the bedtime stories he would've read them?
