The US Supreme Court ... Best if divided equally with both Democrats & Republicans

I think it is too biased to have all Republicans ruling in the US Supreme Court. I know that if the candidate for the fill-in position of US Supreme Court to fill in the blank space created by the one who just retired is just another GOP candidate, there will be a substantial imbalance in the Judicial branch of the US government. If the simple division is based on if a woman has rights to decide to either have a child or have an abortion it is obvious that a woman will make that decision without a mandatory law against her right to decide on her own based on the idea that all human life is sacred by those who are biased against abortion based on the idea that a woman who gets pregnant isn't smart enough to decide if she is ready to have a child will go against every woman's freedom to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as it is written in the US Constitution. But, it seems that most women want to have that baby, rather than deprive it of life liberty and the pursuit of it's yet to be happiness. So weighing in on this, I figure most women will choose either to have that baby or just not get pregnant by taking the pill to prevent conception. The pro-life movement, vs the pro-choice movement are divided diametrically. Here is a link to one point of view by a woman. Not by a man. I think it is worth a look at. By the way I am now the proud great step-grandfather of a new born baby boy. My wife's son's daughter had a baby and he is healthy and will be among those Americans who have a good chance at living the American dream to live life and pursue their own happiness with liberty to be independent in their own thinking. It is both a right and a privilege. I am very glad that my great step-grandson made it and hope all babies are so lucky. Imagine if your mother thought to just not have you? What a terrible thing that would have been. One less light in the heavens is what it would be. Pro life is the best way to view all life, but hopefully it will be the individual choice of all women on the planet. Otherwise, just abstain and don't get pregnant in the first place. That way everybody is a winner.

I was a very late baby and a lucky one. My parents having gone through WW II, the DP Camps and finally arriving in NYC in 1951 had me in 1957 when my mom was already 45. Of course, it is good to have the abortion option if a pregnancy might threaten a woman's life.

Sometimes birth control fails. Sometimes a woman has to terminate a pregnancy that she desperately wants. The bottom line is that it isn't anyone else's business if or why someone chooses to terminate a pregnancy. Not everyone is religious or has the same religious views. It is amazing that conservatives are so pro-life until the kid is actually born. Then they don't want to pay for the child's health care, for food stamps, for their education, and they are totally cool with the children being separated from their parents and being locked up in cages.

@lookatdesktop I feel very passionately about this issue. It enrages me that old men in DC think that they have a right to make these types of decisions for women all across America.

Obama had some time to make a more Liberal appointment to the Supreme Court. What happened? I agree that balance is good.

It would be too biased if all liberal judges sat on the court. Perhaps we would be better off without a Supreme Court because it's all about politics now one side or the other and not the law. It should be a qualification that a candidate has actually practiced law in a courtroom or been a judge on a lower circuit. Someone with hands on experience dealing with real people and not university law professors or politicos who never mounted a defense or prosecution and sit around theorizing how to twist the law to their political beliefs. It's supposed to be a non-partisan bench but just another political tool for both sides.
